Synthetic nylon contrasted with Binakol fabric.
The woven fabric used, known as Binakol, is indigenous to the communities of Ilocos and Cordillera region. It consists of two colours that are woven into squares and rectangles creating a hypnotic and spellbinding geometric pattern - the trance like effect has been said to drive away bad spirits. Traditionally, Binakol is a ceremonial cloth used for protection.
